Birthday Dinner and Nancy's "little project"

We took Sara and Michael out to the Melting Pot for fondue. This is a tradition for their birthdays as it is the only thing we have found that they both like to do. Why couldn't they both just like McDonald's. You could buy a new nail gun and compressor for what it costs to feed this crew at the Melting Pot. Oh by the way, the two faces you might or might not recognize are our children's significant others Mike and Becky.

As you can see, I am unshaven. I have not been able to afford razors since our night out !

We call it Nancy's (Mom's) "little project". It is a complete remodel of the master bedroom. Here is the scariest of all the pictures. Michael with a Saws-all in his hands. Will he cut through another interior wall that should have been left unscathed or will he instead slice and dice some more wiring ?....time will tell. This project would go a lot faster if Nancy could make up our minds which wall it is that she would like us to take out and which one she wants us to leave in. I am going to start an "up-charge" list if she keeps on changing her mind and adding things to this "little project". I got that idea from Keith Lockwood and I think it is a good one. Has anyone out there had any luck serving their wives with an upcharge...if they are still living I would like to know how that turned out. I am sure most who did so met an early and unfortunate demise...just a guess.

Boundary Waters of Central Ontario Canoe trip

This will be the Cole's first attempt at blogging. I thought it would be interesting to post the trip son Michael and his dad took to Canada this June. Last year we went to Seabase and camped on an island for a week. This year we went portaging and paddling in the Canadian wilderness for 8 days and 70 miles. These are very precious times spent together as father and son and I thought you all might like a flavor of our experience through the video and pictures included. Next year we go to the high-desert of New Mexico to see if we can survive that for a week...
